Therapeutic Ultrasound in Fishers
Some areas of the body can be difficult to address with hands-on care alone. Therapeutic ultrasound is a targeted therapy we use to support deeper tissue areas, helping your body respond more effectively when certain regions need additional attention. At About Life Chiropractic, ultrasound is integrated into care that is precise, low-force, and focused on what your body needs.
What Is Therapeutic Ultrasound?
Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound waves to deliver energy to tissues below the surface. This process helps support circulation and how the tissue responds in areas that may be harder to reach with manual techniques alone. A handheld device is applied to the skin and moved over the targeted area during treatment.
When We Use Ultrasound
Ultrasound is typically recommended when deeper tissues need additional support. Sessions are brief and typically last about 8 minutes. It may be helpful for:
- joint or tissue irritation in areas like the shoulders or knees
- foot or heel discomfort
- stiffness that hasn’t responded fully to other care
- supporting recovery alongside chiropractic adjustments
What to Expect
Ultrasound is a simple, in-office therapy. Most patients find it easy to tolerate. During the session:
- a handheld device is moved over the skin
- you’ll feel a mild, steady warmth
- the treatment is quiet and non-invasive
A Supportive Addition to Your Care
Ultrasound is not used for every patient. We recommend it when it adds value—especially when deeper tissues need support beyond what adjustments or soft tissue work can provide.
Care is always based on what is appropriate for your body and your goals.
